Anybody who travels by road will have experienced congestion. What was once an easy drive to work or a quick trip to the shops has become slow and stressful. The car has become the first choice for most journeys and there are now more cars on our roads than ever before. This increase in traffic has meant that the road network can no longer cope with the volume of traffic trying to use it. As a result we have queues; which are getting longer every day.
Sitting in a queue doesn’t just waste time, it is expensive. The fuel being burnt just to stay still has to be paid for and the effect of exhaust fumes on the environment and our health is having long term effects, which will eventually have to be paid for.
By sharing a journey everyone can contribute to reducing congestion and stress as well as helping to improve the environment.
